Goofy as all get up, but hilarious.

As long as they keep their clothes on and don't curse then I'll keep watching to see what they come up with.

Paloma Alvarez, agreed to play for Western Carolina University.

“Being here and even going to nationals which was a very big experience for me because I have I have never been to a national tournament it is pretty big,” the 5-foot-10 outside hitter said. “I hope I can bring that to the school I am I going to know and help improve the program and help to get them big.”

6-foot-3 middle blocker Fatima Balza verbally committed to become a Nittany Lion this past December while Nayka Benitez, will continue her volleyball career at Creighton University.
“I choose Creighton because when I went there to visit, the team was nice and I really liked it,” she said. “That school is like a family, just like here. I think I will be comfortable. I am excited because maybe I will see them again. It will be a new experience.”

“I think Nayka will jump in and be one of the best liberos in the conference,” said Kirsten Bernthal Booth, Creighton’s all-time winningest volleyball coach. “She has outstanding ball control and is a tremendous defensive player who encompasses what it takes to be a great libero.”

Girls High School Volleyball Setter, Thyele Rechatiko Jumps For The South Dakota Jackrabbits This Fall

"We proudly welcome Thyele Rechatiko to the Jackrabbit family here at South Dakota State University," said SDSU head volleyball coach Nana Allison-Brewer .

"This young lady is a phenomenal athlete! She possesses a drive and competitive spirit that caught my eye right away. Not only does she set an incredible ball, but Thyele is willing to step up to the service line during game point (for or against) and serve a fast and heavy jump serve. I truly enjoy her energy and feel her skill set gives us the depth we need in the setting position for the fall 2009 season. In November girls  high school senior and volleyball player Mallory Horridge at Northlake Christian School in Covington, suffered a torn ACL injury that has caused her to miss her senior volleyball season.

Best friends and teammates Mandy Bastian and Kim Albers have committed to play in Cleveland Ohio for Notre Dame College.

Check out their interesting family and friend connection-which just doesn’t stop with them.

“It’s exciting going somewhere with your best friend while also getting to play volleyball and get your school paid for,” Mandy said before her brother’s game at Oakmont on March 31. “It’s funny coming back watching our brothers play the same position because it’s kind of like we get to critique them.”

Head Volleyball coach Brian Jew says “Mandy is probably, hands down, the best passer we’ve ever had and probably the best all around player,” Jew said. “Kim is probably the strongest middle we’ve ever had. Those girls have contributed a ton to the program and I always say that they laid a foundation for the girls coming up.”

According to Taylor University volleyball coach Brittany Smith:

"Her serve/receive percentage is so spectacular. Taylor will definitely benefit in the back row," Webster said. "She's so consistent, at the high school level you don't see that consistency that she provided us this past season . . . That's just tremendous."

Hope Knowling:

"I'm really excited," said Knowling, who chose Taylor over Hanover College in Indiana and Lipscomb University in Tennessee. "I don't know where I stand. I'll find out when I get there. I hope to contribute as much as I possibly can. I think it's really exciting and think I'm ready to play at the collegiate level next season."

Northwestern State volleyball head coach Brittany Uffelman signs three recruits

Lauren Peltier and Brittany Fruge along with girls high school volleyball senior Nicole Hajka.will play for the Lady Demons this fall.

“I’m really excited about this class,” said Uffelman, who will be beginning her fourth season as head coach this fall and has guided her teams to three consecutive SLC Tournament appearances.  “This is by far the best group of recruits I’ve signed since being here.”

A Note For Girls Volleyball Parents: If This Many Teens Are Doing It, Maybe You Should Know

What is Sexting?

Technology has a way of changing teen’s behaviors, and the newest trend among teens is combining cell phones, texting and camera phones to send nude pictures of themselves to boys, or vice versa.

Roughly 20 percent of teens admit to participating in “sexting,” according to a nationwide survey by the National Campaign to Support Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy.
While parents may be shocked by the act, it’s not an unusual act for teens, particularly high school students around the country.

But because many of these young people are under the age of 18, it makes the photo exchanges child pornography.

“I don’t see many ‘ah ha’ moments, but the one thing that stood out for me was the students and how much this risky business is really going on. That really surprised me.”

Girls Volleyball co-captain Brittany Eppright will play for Evangel University This Fall

Girls varsity volleyball player and outside hitter Brittany Eppler has signed to play and continue her education for the Lady Crusaders.

“Evangel offered the best opportunity for me,” Eppright explained, “both academically and athletically. I considered (Missouri State) for educational purposes. I plan to finish up my education at MSU.”

The Girls Volleyball Player Who Plays Boys Soccer Signs For Clearwater Christian College

Commenting on her four inch growth spurt  in the 10th and 11th grades the 5’11” Lady Lion girls volleyball senior, Jackie Butler, says:

"Initially, my sophomore year was a learning year," Butler said of adjusting to her height. "Through the help of my coach and just practicing hard, knowing what I want to do and working hard on it, it all clicked."

Hernando Christian Academy Volleyball coach Sue Murphy says:  

"She's a leader. That comes naturally to her. She's got a great attitude which has always been good. She took more of a leadership role and became a much better hitter. She was more consistent in everything she does. She learned to adjust."
