Volleyball camp to feature seven different clinics on different part of game
TERRE HAUTE, IND. – The 2009 Indiana State Volleyball Camps and Clinics is underway this week in the ISU Arena with head coach Traci Dahl welcoming student-athletes in the ninth through 12th grades for a series of clinics on the different aspects of the game.
Monday featured a passing clinic in the morning followed by a libero clinic in the afternoon. Tuesday’s schedule calls for a setting clinic in the morning with an attack and blocking clinic in the afternoon. The final three days of the camp will feature day long clinics including a setter/hitter clinic on Wednesday, multi-skills camp on Thursday, and a serving clinic on Friday.
Registration for each clinic is held a half hour before each clinic begins. Athletes who would like to attend any of the clinics, and who have not registered as yet, can attend by coming to the ISU Arena and registering before the start of the clinic.
Dahl is beginning her second year as the Indiana State head coach. She was an assistant coach at Cal State-Fullerton for two years (2005-2007) and spent 2004 as an assistant at Hofstra University. She began her coaching career at Downey High School (Downey, Calif.) where the Vikings were undefeated in her final three years.
She started her collegiate career at Cerritos Community College where she was named the South Coast Conference Player of the Year twice. Cerritos won the state championship in 1992 and Dahl was named the California State Player of the year. She finished her collegiate career at Long Beach State where she was a member of the 1993 National Championship team.
