last season with a 20-6 record (.769) through the first week of action.
• Fear the underclassmen... Pac-10 rosters include 49 freshmen, 45 sophomores, 32 juniors
and 32 seniors.
• Pac-10 teams work fast... Last season, Pac-10 teams were 111-26 (.810) in non-conference
play. Of those 137 matches, 76 lasted just three sets where the Pac-10 posted an
impressive 68-8 record (.895).
• Bring it on... In order to prepare for the rigorous Pac-10 schedule, league teams schedule tough non-conference matches. Of the 117 non-conference tilts on the 2009 docket, 41 are against teams who competed in last year’s NCAA Tournament.
