Volleyball has signed two for 2010
FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU volleyball head coach Prentice Lewis has announced the signing of Jordan Raines. Raines transfers to TCU after two seasons at Denver. A 6-0 outside hitter, she becomes the second member of the 2010 signing class, joining Yvonne Igodan who was signed in November. Raines will be a junior next fall.
"Raines’ accolades show what a great athlete she is and we are happy to add to our roster," said Lewis.
A native of Coppell, Texas, Raines played in 222 sets for the Pioneers over the last two seasons. After a successful freshman campaign in which she earned the team’s Most Valuable Freshman honors, she followed up with an even stronger sophomore season. She ranked second on the team with 337 kills, an average of 2.79 per set.
In high school, Raines helped guide her squad to a district championship as a senior and was named the district’s Most Valuable Player. She was a first-team all-area, all-district and all-state performer as a senior. Raines also spent seven years playing club volleyball at Texas Advantage Volleyball (TAV).
