MAC Conference Names Marcia Alterman As Coordinator of Volleyball Officials
Alterman brings over 16 years of senior management experience to the Mid-American Conference

Cleveland, Ohio –The Mid-American Conference (MAC) announced today the addition of Marcia Alterman as the Coordinator of Volleyball Officials. Alterman brings over 16 years of senior management experience and her vast knowledge of collegiate women’s volleyball to the MAC.
Alterman also currently serves as the executive director for the Professional Association of Volleyball Officials (PAVO), and also coordinator of women’s volleyball officials for the Big Ten Conference and Conference USA, positions she has held since 1996. In addition, Alterman was named Big East Conference coordinator of women’s volleyball officials in 2009 and has served to role of women’s volleyball secretary-rules editor for the NCAA since 2001.
“I am pleased that Marcia will serve as coordinator of volleyball officials for our conference,” said Dr. Jon Steinbrecher, Commissioner of the Mid-American Conference. “She is a leader in this field and I look forward to her joining our team.”
Alterman received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Wichita State University in 1975 and also earned her MBA from Wichita State in 1992. Alterman resides in Wichita, Kan.
