Rams drop two spots after first conference loss
LEXINGTON, Ky. – After having its 13-match winning streak ended at New Mexico Thursday, the Colorado State volleyball team slid two positions in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I poll, to No. 15. The poll was released Monday afternoon.
The drop comes after the Rams’ three-set loss to the Lobos, the first time the team had been swept this season. The Rams managed to get back on track Saturday night, winning at TCU in three sets to close out the weekend's action.
The Rams are now 23-3 overall, 12-1 in the MWC, with only three matches left in regular-season play.
CSU returns to the court Thursday night at Wyoming for the second leg of the Border War. A win Thursday night against the Cowgirls will clinch at least a share of the Mountain West championship for the Rams.
CSU closes out the regular season at Moby Arena, taking on Utah (Nov. 24) and BYU (Nov. 26), during Fan Appreciation Week.
