LSU Volleyball Team Hosts Spring Tournament and Alumnae Weekend
BATON ROUGE – The LSU volleyball team continues its spring season and plays host to its spring tournament Saturday at the Maravich Center. Admission is free as the Tigers will face off against Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern and Southern Miss.
LSU dropped a pair of decisions against 2011 NCAA Final Four participant Florida State and 2011 NCAA Elite Eight qualifier Florida last weekend.
The Tigers also will welcome back 24 former players for the program’s 2012 Alumnae event. The former LSU players are scheduled to play an Alumnae match at 12 p.m.
LSU has strung together seven consecutive SEC Western Division titles highlighted by the overall league championship in 2009. It's the second longest streak in SEC history, only behind Florida's 14-year run on top of the SEC's Eastern Division from 1995-2008. The Tigers have garnered a 159-55 record, secured six NCAA Tournament appearances and notched 24 All-SEC selections since 2005.
