Women's Volleyball Champions: Paula Weishoff, USA 3time Volleyball Olympian
You have to read this fantastic article about my ex teammate (Reggio Emilia, Italy A-1 and Budlight 4-Woman "Team Champion") and matron of Honor ...3 time Olympian Paula Weishoff.
I've been blessed to play with (and against) some of the BEST, most decorated female players EVER to play the game and Paula first as a friend and secondly as a teammate is at the very front of the list.
If you are lucky during your lifetime to meet someone who you KNOW you were supposed to meet and befriend and share alot of heavy life experiences with...for me Paula was the one.
I've had alot of "Pepper" partners, warmup partners in my lifetime but NO one that I know peppers and runs you around the court like Paula did. I learned how to play defense playing with her and I was fortunate to get to play defense behind her middle block which was ALOT of fun! Cuz my job was made REALLY REALLY easy.

"If bread crumbs were left to trail the traveling path of Paula Weishoff as a volleyball player and coach, followers would pick up a bit of history and success with each morsel left behind."
Weishoff, the only American to win two Olympic women’s indoor volleyball medals, is viewed as one of the greatest female players the world has witnessed as a dominating middle blocker and server.
Weishoff is one of only four American female volleyball players to earn spots on three different Olympic rosters. She led Team USA to a silver medal at the 1984 Olympic Games staged in Los Angeles. After a break from international competition, she sparked the U.S. to a bronze medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games as she was awarded the most valuable player award for the tournament. Weishoff’s attempt for a third Olympic medal was foiled in 1996 as the U.S. finished seventh in Atlanta.
In reflection, Weishoff has fond memories of each of her three Olympic experiences for differing reasons, but she single out two events in particular for the memorable moment category.
“Each Olympics had their own moments,” Weishoff said. “My first Olympics in 1984, walking into the Opening Ceremonies and experiencing that for the first time will never be forgotten. Then to come back in 1996 and playing in front of your home crowd is special as well.”
Upon completion of her playing career, Weishoff’s career path shifted from inside the rectangular box to the sideline where she is in her 10th season as a highly-regarded coach. After seven seasons as an assistant coach at alma mater University of Southern California, she has held the position of head coach at NAIA Concordia University-Irvine located in the Los Angeles metropolitan area the past three seasons.
