PHILADELPHIA – Tiffany Gaerke has been named Co-Offensive Player of the Week by the Atlantic 10. This is the second consecutive week a Flyer has been honored by the conference offices.
Gaerke was named MVP of the Holiday Inn West Bronco Invitational after helping the Flyers to a 6-0 start this season. Against ACC opponent Wake Forest, Gaerke tallied a team-high 17 kills for her first double-double of the season, after also tallying 11 digs.. In that match she also scored six service aces.
On the weekend, Gaerke averaged 4.00 kills per set. She finished with eight total service aces and 31 digs for a 3.10 average per set.
The Flyers host their home-opener on Friday, Sept. 11 against the UConn Huskies in the Dayton Flyer Classic at 7:00 p.m. in the Frericks Center. Dayton will also host Samford and Creighton in the tournament. Admission is free of charge to all home games at the Frericks Center this season.
