beach volleyball players that are the key components of your brand.
The AVP has been busy during these winter months.
First Things First the AVP Signed Two Years With NBC, ESPN and ABC
"The AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour announced a broadcast agreement with ABC and ESPN to televise its events over the next two years. The agreement includes 13 AVP telecasts in 2010, four on ABC and nine on ESPN2. The schedule totals more than 19 hours of live HD coverage for the season, including the Tour Championship in Chicago, giving the AVP its most consistent television footprint ever. Coverage will begin with the Tour's season-opener in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., April 18 at 5:30 p.m. ET on ESPN."
Then the Association of Volleyball Professionals Announced Its 2010 Schedule
The first event begins this weekend April 16 -18 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
“The entire AVP team has worked hard to create a schedule that promotes the strategic goals of the AVP and our Sponsors,” said Jason Hodell, Chief Executive Officer of the AVP.
“Locations were chosen for their volleyball community, large beach-going audience and commercial value for Sponsors. Successful outreach efforts to Volleyball Nation are critical to AVP success and we are excited about our 2010 programs.”

My 2 cents!
I love NIVEA products, it's a brand I've used all my life and one of the few cosmetic brands I've habitually paid to buy and I think it's a name that people, especially women trust and the players, current and former seem to like the brand and the AVP deal (five years folks!) too.. I think this will make for a great partnership with good things to come in the future.
Okay here's my Nivea Trivia-What famous NFL's quarterback's wife wanted to be a pro beach volleyball player before becoming famous as a supermodel??
AVP Teams Up for Adoption
Okay so you may not have the endorsement money to sign a five-year deal with the AVP like NIVEA, but not all is lost. Now if your company wants to sponsor an AVP beach volleyball team you can pay $500 to "rent" two professional athletes for 48 hours because AVP Beach Volleyball Teams Are Up For Adoption This Summer Season. All proceeds go to the players.
Can I just say that those beach volleyball players who've had the forsight of marketing themselves--in one way or another--may have the upper hand. Great idea.
Let the Beach or Sand Volleyball Season Officially Begin!
Along with the AVP a host of Beach Volleyball Events Kick Off This Weekend starting with the third Annual SEC Coaches Beach Volleyball Championship and the Collegiate Beach Volleyball Challenge are taking Place at the Fiesta On Siesta which begins April 17.

Doctor J Is Back After Shoulder Surgery
Former US National Team setter Dr. Julie Romias and partner Tealle Hunkus won the second of four 2010 USA Volleyball Beach International Development Qualifier (IDQ) events held March 27-28 in Long Beach, Calif.
“It was my first event back after missing 2009 due to shoulder surgery,” Romias said. “I was really nervous before the first match, but we gained confidence pretty quickly.”

New York magazine's fashion editors for the "FUG Girls fashion" report that attendees at the Max Azria fashion show may not have known who 90210's Anna Lynne McCord was, but guests and attendees had no problems recognizing "beach volleyball superstar Kerri Walsh."
