LSU Volleyball Team’s Steve Loeswick Wins Bronze Medal with USA A2 Program
PHOENIX, Ariz. – LSU volleyball assistant coach Steve Loeswick captured a bronze medal as part of the USA National A2 Red Team at the USA Volleyball Open National Championships held at the Phoenix Convention Center.
It marks the third consecutive season that LSU has been represented at the event. Brittnee Cooper and Elena Martinez won gold in 2008, while Cooper picked up a silver medal in 2009. USA A2 Red compiled a 3-1 mark in pool play before falling in the consolation semifinals.
The USA Volleyball High Performance pipeline A2 Teams have been competing in the Open Division since 2003. Its only other championships in the event were in 2004 and 2008. The USA A2 Program is the only team with more than one Women’s Open Division title in the last eight years.
