McNeese Athletics Department Begins Roundup Tour
First Tour Stop Is This Friday In Houston
LAKE CHARLES--McNeese State's fourth annual Cowboy Roundup Tour presented by the Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitors Bureau, begins this Friday, June 18 in Houston at Minute Maid Park.
The event enables fans to visit with McNeese coaches of all sports and to listen to them talk about their programs and upcoming seasons. Admission is free and fans will also have the opportunity to visit with the university's athletic administration, purchase seasons tickets, join the McNeese Athletic Foundation (MAF) and obtain McNeese merchandise.
Door prizes will also be available at all stops.
The tour was started four years ago by athletic director Tommy McClelland with the purpose of bringing McNeese athletics to every part of Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas.
A social will kick things off at 5 p.m., the program will begin at 6 p.m. and then everyone can take in the Astros game against the Texas Rangers following the social. Tickets for the game are $9 and can be purchased through the McNeese ticket office.
McNeese head coaches who will be at each of the stops on the tour are Matt Viator(football), Dave Simmons (men's basketball), Brooks Donald Williams (women's basketball), Terry Burrows (baseball), Natalie Poole (softball), Brendon Gilroy (track and field), Scooter Savoie (soccer), Terry Gamble (volleyball), Magali Risoleo (women's tennis), Neel DeRouen (men's golf) and Mike Fluty (women's golf).

Next week the tour will makes stops in Lafayette on Wednesday, June 23 and in Baton Rouge on Friday, June 25.
