The Bulls have six players committed for next year, including some of
the best high school talent in the country. Incoming freshman Dani Reinert
(Cincinnati, OH/Ursuline Academy) was honored by Prepvolleyball.com earlier
this season as the Andi Collins Award Winner, which is given to the nation¹s
top high school setter. Reinert, Christine Fritsche (Parma, OH/Parma) and
Kelly Svoboda (Cleveland, OH/Trinity) were also honored by
Prepvolleyball.com as Senior Aces.
³This class is the beginning of great things for the volleyball program
here at Buffalo,² said head coach Todd Kress. ³Each of these
student-athletes come here with the same mission and that is to win. They
will be the foundation and the first building block in taking UB volleyball
to new heights.²
The Bulls also signed Carissa McKenna (West Bloomfield, MI/Walled Lake
Northern) in their initial class back in November before adding Alexa Manuel
(Eden Prairie, MN/Eden Prairie/Long Beach State) and Dana Musil (Vancouver,
British Columbia/South Delta) during the late signing period.
UB was one of two teams from the Mid-American Conference to receive
Highest Honorable Mention honors from Prepvolleyball.com, joining Western
Michigan. High Honorable Mention honorees were Ball State and Ohio, while
Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Toledo were all named Honorable
Mention. UB was also the only program in the state of New York to be
honored on this list.
The 2010 Bulls begin their season on Aug. 28 at the West Virginia
Tournament.
