UTSA Volleyball Players Brittney Malloy, Briana Mason named to COBRA Magazine All-Region Team
SAN ANTONIO - Middle hitters Briana Mason and Brittney Malloy have been named to the COBRA Magazine Southwest All-Region Team, as announced by the magazine on Friday. COBRA Magazine's purpose is to celebrate the success of volleyball players of African descent in hopes of encouraging black girls across the country to pursue the sport.
Mason, a senior from Dallas, finished third on the team with 223 winners (1.86 kps), while leading UTSA with 120 total blocks. She finished seventh in the Southland Conference with an average of one block per set.
Mason's career mark of 286 total blocks is the sixth-most in the program's history. She ranks fourth in block assists (225) and seventh in block solos (61) at UTSA.
Malloy, a local product of Warren High School, led the Roadrunners with a .308 hitting percentage in her sophomore campaign. She was fourth on the squad with 213 winners (1.84 kps) and second in total blocks (107).
