University of Northern Iowa Junior Setter Bre Payton Earns Second Team All-America Honors from Volleyball Magazine
*CEDAR FALLS**, Iowa – *University of Northern Iowa junior setter Bre Payton landed a spot on Volleyball Magazine’s All-America Second Team. This is the second All-America honor for Payton this year as she also earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Second Team accolades.
In addition to being named an AVCA All-American, Payton was named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year and earned a spot on the MVC All-Tournament team. The junior setter notched six triple-doubles in 2010, including a string of four matches with a triple-double. Payton dished out 11.14 assists per set to go along with 2.79 digs per set and 1.94 kills per set. Payton helped the Panthers average 15.24 kills per set, ranking them first in the nation heading into the NCAA Tournament.
UNI ended the season with a 30-3 record and ranked No. 14 in the final AVCA Coaches Poll.
