Oregon State Volleyball Opens Spring Slate
Corvallis, Ore. – The Oregon State volleyball team opened its spring schedule with the first practice on Tuesday morning in legendary Gill Coliseum.
The Beavers begin spring competition at home, hosting Oregon and Portland on Saturday, Apr. 9, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Following the team’s match against the Ducks at 2:30 p.m., the team will then square off against members of the Oregon State football team in the Second Annual Digging for Dylan at 5:00 p.m. Tickets will only be sold at the door in legendary Gill Coliseum and are $10 for adults and $5 for youth and Oregon State students with OSU ID. Cash and checks are only accepted.
Oregon State will head south to Eugene the following weekend for another tournament at the University of Oregon on Saturday, Apr. 16, before heading to Portland State on Saturday, Apr. 30 for the last tournament of the spring, scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m.
To wrap things up, the Beavers will host Western Washington in the team’s annual Spring Match in legendary Gill Coliseum on Saturday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. in conjunction with the Fifth Annual Willamette Classic.
The squad returns 13 from the 2010 roster, including 2010 Pac-10 All-Freshman Team selection middle blocker Mona Kressl, and a talented junior class led by setter Megan McBride. Transfer middle blocker/opposite hitter Niki Small will make her debut for Oregon State.
The Beavers will open 2011 with their annual Orange and Black Scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 20 before heading to Laramie, Wyo. for the Cowgirl Classic, hosted by Wyoming for four matches.
