Falcon Volleyball Opens Inaugural Season in Stroh against Michigan State—Tickets On Sale Now
Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team will host the first official sporting event in Stroh Center history on Sept. 9 and tickets are now on sale. The Falcons will host Michigan State at 6 pm in the first match of the Best Western Falcon Plaza Invitational to kick off a new era in Bowling Green athletics.
“Playing Michigan State for the home opener will be a great match,” Denise Van De Walle, in her 29th and final season as the BGSU volleyball coach, said. “Our fans will get to see the beautiful Stroh Center for the first time and will see our young Falcons against a Big Ten team that returns nearly its entire starting line-up.”
Season tickets for 11 home matches are on sale for just $35 and single game tickets are also on sale for this historic event. Fans who purchase 2011 season tickets will get two free additional tickets for the home opener.
There are also numerous special rates for the first volleyball match in the Stroh Center as tickets for that contest will be just $4. Fans who purchase three single-game tickets to that match will get another free, while groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets for the home opener for just $2. Also, fans who purchase football tickets for the Sept. 10 game against Morgan State can purchase volleyball tickets for just $2.
“Playing in the Stroh Center marks the beginning of a new era for BGSU Volleyball,” Van De Walle said. “I want to invite all of our fans to get their season tickets soon. This is going to be an exciting season and our fans can be a part of BGSU Athletics history.”
In all, Bowling Green volleyball will play three home matches in the Best Western Falcon Plaza Invitational Sept. 9-10 and will host eight Mid-American Conference matches, concluding with a Nov. 12 match against Northern Illinois, which will serve as Senior Day and the final regular season match in Coach Van De Walle’s distinguished career.
