Kansas Jayhawks to Host Free Volleyball Clinic

 

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas volleyball coach Ray Bechard and his coaching staff announced the team’s upcoming plans to host a Jayhawk Juniors Volleyball free clinic before the South Dakota State match on Sept. 3 at the Horejsi Family Athletics Center.

 

Prior to meeting the Jackrabbits at the Jayhawk Invitational, the team will welcome those interested in supporting Jayhawk Juniors Volleyball to a free clinic. Those in attendance will receive an hour and a half of free training, an informational session about the youth program and complimentary tickets to watch KU take on SDSU.

 

Open to ages K-12, the clinic is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. in Robinson Gymnasium on the KU campus and will conclude at 11:30 a.m. An informational session will start directly after the clinic and will dismiss at noon, giving attendees time to make their way to the Horejsi Family Athletics Center for the 1 p.m. match.

Terry Gamble Volleyball Camp Doubles In Attendance



    McNeese head volleyball coach Terry Gamble had a great turnout for his second volleyball camp which began Thursday and will conclude Saturday.  The camp is being held in two sessions with the first session for individuals in junior high and below.  The second session is for high school players.

    This years camp has doubled in numbers from Gamble’s inaugural camp with over 100 campers attending the three day camp.

    “We are really excited to have this number of kids attend camp.  We more than doubled our attendance from the inaugural camp last year and that shows the excitement for McNeese volleyball.  We like working with the kids and it gives me and my coaches an opportunity to get out in the community,” said head coach Terry Gamble.

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Starting in July, the University of Kansas volleyball team will hold a variety of skills camps for players entering grades 6-12 and it is not too late to sign up.

 

The Jayhawks will hold two individual skills camp from July 6-9 and July 24-27. The emphasis of this clinic is to teach and develop the fundamental techniques of volleyball, as well as game strategies.

 

Position-specific camps will also be held during the month of July. Hitter camp is scheduled to run on July 22, while setter and defensive specialist camp will be held on July 23.

AMES, Iowa – With the first of eight Iowa State volleyball camps less than a week away, the Cyclones have limited spaces remaining in seven of the camps. Registration for the Team Camp Gold, July 30-31, is closed. Camps are open to all ages and competition levels.

ISU VOLLEYBALL COACH ANNOUNCES INDIANA ELITE VOLLEYBALL CLINICS

Dahl to conduct clinics in July for youth, high school, and college prep in ISU Arena

 

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State volleyball coach Traci Dahl has announced that a series of Indiana Elite Volleyball Clinics will be held during July in the ISU Arena. The clinics are for youth all skills, high school, and college prep.

 

The youth clinic will be held July 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for youth ages 10-14. This clinic is designed for the beginner and/or intermediate player and will focus on the fundamentals of the game. Cost is $50.00 which includes a t-shirt.

 

The high school clinic will be held July 19 and 20 from 1 p.m.to 4 p.m. for high school athletes who will be freshman, sophomores, juniors, or seniors at the start of the 2011-2012 academic year. This clinic is designed for players looking to refine their skills before the high school season. Attendees will be put through a series of competitive drills to help prepare them for high school competition. Cost is $50.00 which includes a t-shirt.

 

The college prep clinic will be held July 21 and 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with lunch provided. The clinic is open to high school athletes who are going into their junior or senior year (for the 2011-2012 school year) as well as athletes who have just graduated from  high school. This clinic is for the serious athlete that wants to get a clear idea of what training at the college level is going to be like.

 

The clinic will include volleyball specific conditioning, court training, and highly competitive drills as well as exploring the mental aspects of the game. Those attending will have a clearer vision of what can be expected at the next level. Cost of the clinic is $125.00 which includes lunch and a t-shirt.

The UNLV Volleyball Program Will Hold 10 Summer Volleyball Camps

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV volleyball program has announced that it will hold 10 different summer camps for players ranging from elementary through high school levels. The camps are specialized for either individual and/or team instruction. They are scheduled to take place between a three-week time frame beginning on July 16 and ending on August 4, and focus on skill instruction, team drills and also play.

Four of the camps are designed for players (ages 14-18 recommended) who are serious about specializing in a certain position. Three of these four are scheduled to take place over two-day periods: setters (July 16-17), outside hitters (July 18-19) and middle blockers (July 20-21). The libero camp is a one-day affair slated for July 31. All of these camps run from 9:00 am to noon, break for lunch, and resume from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Two “All-Skills Camps” are set for July 25-28 and August 1-4. The July version is broken down between commuters and those that want to stay overnight and ranges from one to three sessions per day, while the August one is only a day camp.

There are two “Team Camps” scheduled for July 23-25 and July 29-30.

A “Junior High Camp” is provided for those in sixth through eighth grade and will take place August 1-4. It will teach individuals the fundamentals, skills and drills, while providing fun games.

Youngsters in third through sixth grade will have the opportunity to attend the “Little Rebels Camp” that runs July 18-21. It is designed to teach the basic fundamentals and techniques of the game.

A third individual skills session is scheduled for end of July. The varsity game is designed for resident and commuter high school volleyball players.

USC Trojans Head volleyball coach Mick Haley directs these special volleyball clinics and camps in Southern California.

The first is a back court clinic, followed by an all skills clinic which will focus on serve receive, defensive technique, blocking the volleyball spike and serving.

The last two clinics are a volleyball setter clinic and a hitter/blocker clinic that are scheduled on the same day.

UCLA Volleyball Camps

One of the most popular volleyball camps to attend in the Pac 12 conference the UCLA Bruins have days and overnight volleyball camps for residents and commuters that are not to be missed.

The UCLA camp season starts with a coed indoor day camp, a girls overnight camp, a girls setter clinic, followed by a girls volleyball libero clinic.

David Rubio Volleyball Camps at the University of Arizona

Arizona high school volleyball players have lots of opportunities to improve their skills, especially their volleyball spike at the David Rubio Volleyball camps this summer.

There's a new mini-camp that has been added for 2011 for boys and girls aged 8 - 13.

Next is an intermediate all skills camp for 10-16 year olds. a position camp specifically for setters, attackers looking to make their volleyball spike efficient and liberos who want to improve their defensive skills.

An advanced all skills camp is on the schedule along with a high school team camp and a coaches clinic.

Washington State Cougars Volleyball Camps

Andrew Palileo and the Cougars volleyball staff including 2009 Pac 10 Freshman of the Year Oceana Bush will host four camps on the campus of Washington State.

The youth camp starts the series and is followed by the all skills camp where players can tune up their technique and learn more about the volleyball spike and other skills. 

The volleyball team camp and the ellite camp round out the Washington State camp season.

Mike Jordan Volleyball Camps at NMSU will focus on the basic skills like serving, passing, attacking and defense in order to help New Mexico State campers learn how to play volleyball.

They have three types of camps this summer, including a team camp, an all skills camp and a specialty camp, all of these are scheduled for the month of July.

The specialty camps will focus on learning how to set a volleyball and the defensive art of digging.

Utah State Volleyball Camps

 

 Grayson Du Bose Girls Volleyball Camp at Utah State offers one three day session at the end of July (23 - 26) where high school age players can learn how to play volleyball.

 

 

Boise State Volleyball Camps

The Broncos offer several youth camps where young players can learn how to play volleyball.

In June, they have their first Bronco youth camp, and about a month later they start their camp season with an individual volleyball skills camp, an advanced skills camp, another Bronco youth camp and ending with a volleyball team competiton camp.

Young female volleyball players living in the southeastern part of the United States have plenty of opportunities to learn how to improve their volleyball game by attending one of these Southeastern Conference college volleyball camps.

From Alabama, to Georgia, to Tennessee to Florida there are lots of different kinds of camps to choose from.

 

Alabama Tide Volleyball Camps

 

Alabama head coach Ed Allen will lead this year's slate of 2012 Ed Allen Tide volleyball camps.

During the first week of July 6 -7 will be the High School Challenge Volleyball Camp--created in the tournament round-robin style format this is a "play-only" camp.

The setter/attacker volleyball camp is scheduled for July 9 - 10, targeted to 12-year-olds to high school seniors.

On July 12 - 14 is the Training Skills Camp which will focus on teaching fundamental skills of the game.

Scheduled for the same dates July 12 - 14 will be the Middle School Day Camp, and at the end of July on the 25th to 27th is the JV/Varsity Team Camp.

Northern Iowa Volleyball Camps

Northern Iowa has a lot to offer for volleyball athletes who want to learn the basic volleyball rules and more this summer.

Starting the second weekend in June is the Panthers first high school volleyball camp, followed by a youth day camp and two one-day camps--one for liberos and one for little Panthers.

In July, there are two high school volleyball elite camps scheduled followed by two team camp sessions.

Creighton Volleyball Camps

The Jays have what they call the Creighton Volleyball Academy created for high school volleyball players and teams who may already know the basic rules of volleyball but are looking for opportunities to prepare for their upcoming 2012 volleyball season.

The Academy runs for two days.

For really young volleyball girls, the Jays offer the two sessions of little Jays camps, one on June 14 and one on July 16.

Junior high school volleyball players have the opportunity to attend two two-day individual camps, one on June 7 - 8 and the second on July 23 - 24.

 

 

Missouri State Volleyball Camps

Over 800 Missouri area volleyball girls and boys learned basic volleyball rules and practiced volleyball skills at last year's Missouri State volleyball camps.

This year, the Bears have scheduled many more camps to accomodate the many campers who plan to attend.

There are specific camps for junior high school volleyball players in June and July. The libero camp is for high school volleyball players, followed by two camps for kindergarteners to fourth graders on July 9.

A one-day hitter/attacker camp is scheduled along with two high school camps and a team camp wraps up this roster of camp sessions.
