It's tough to lose your veterans, your leaders on the team. Here's how coach Deitre Collins Parker talks about handling the rebuilding year.
As a high school or club player it's important to know which colleges are 'rebuiliding' - that means those schools, colleges and universities that have alot of seniors playing on the starting team this year, won't have them next year so next year is a rebuilding year. If you are a high school junior or senior looking at a particular school or university to play be sure to consider how many upperclassmen are already playing in your same position.
If you are a setter and a high school junior - you need to ask yourself how many setters are already playing or are waiting to play at the college or university which you've picked as your top choice? Or your second choice? Many players forget to do that and they end up sitting on the bench for two years whereas if they made another choice they would have a better chance of playing right away or a better shot at earning a position, taking one from an upperclassman because there was less competition for the setter position- your position.

“People like [Holland and Mushovic] have really improved over the years and are really good,” Collins-Parker said. “We just needed to develop a supporting cast.”
“There’s no pressure on us,” Collins-Parker said. “And we’re more competitive this year than last year. … There are some teams in the Ivy League that are really strong right now, but I think they will be surprised [by us].”
