Number 13 – Tracy Stalls is a 6' 4" middle blocker from Denver, Colorado one of three players on the National team that played for Nebraska. Tracy is a very popular public speaker and writer, and I had the pleasure to listen to hear her speak at the AVCA convention in Omaha, Nebraska.

"He talked about sacrifice," Stalls said. "And he told us that every one of us was going to make at least one sacrifice this season and some of that comes down to roles. Some people have already had to deal with that and it’s part of being a team. Our goal has been about selflessness and loving each other and respecting each other and we’re trying to achieve unity. It's hard work, and it doesn't come across well every day, but the good thing is, you see people working on it."

From USA Today:
"She's the one who rallies everybody," Cook said. "She has a tremendous amount of respect from our players because when she talks, it really hits home. It makes a lot of sense. She has a gift."
"There is so much you can take away from Tracy," Cooper said. "Mostly how she stays composed throughout hard matches and easy matches. She's very steady. She is just adamant on discipline, never giving up, never slacking. That's something I want to take from her, and the standard we need set for next year, too."
From Nebraska Scout.com:
Nebraska volleyball coach John Cook announced Wednesday that Tracy Stalls, a 6-3 middle blocker from Arvada, Colo., has signed a national letter-of-intent to play for the Huskers beginning in 2004.
"We’re ecstatic that Tracy wants to be a Husker," Cook said.
"We have never recruited a player who is more driven and focused than Tracy. She brings a tremendous work ethic and a competitive desire to help Nebraska win a national championship. Tracy was a pioneer, in a way, by choosing to spend two years in the USA program before attending college. She has blazed a trail and given high school players another opportunity to think about."

An amazing update written by Tracy Stalls to the Front Range Club players:
“I remember sitting on the bleachers when we lost and looking around, everyone was hanging their heads,” said 6-3 junior middle blocker Tracy Stalls. “I, too, was very disappointed. We were unsuccessful, not because we lost, but because we played afraid. There were a lot of things we just didn’t max out on.”
