Setter Taylor Barnes broke Dana Chuha’s career assists record
WACO, Texas – Setter Taylor Barnes broke an BU’s all-time assists record, leading Baylor to a 3-0 sweep (25-14, 25-15, 25-14) over visiting Colorado on Wednesday night at the Ferrell Center.
“We went out there, had leads, and extended them instead of letting them back in the sets,” head coach Jim Barnes said. “That’s a good sign that we kept playing hard to the end.”
Barnes, who entered the night 19 assists shy of Dana Chuha’s career record on 4,955, recorded 20 on the night to break the record by one. She also had nine digs, six blocks and four kills in the match to lead the Bears. Junior Ashlie Christenson fueled the Bear attack with 13 kills and just one error on 22 swings for a .545 clip.

The defense was the other story on the night as Anna Breyfogle led a Bear block party, racking up 11 block assists, her second highest total of the season, and the second highest three-set total in school history.
