Cal Bears Asst Coach Named New Head Coach At Air Force Academy
"Being a part of the Cal athletic family has been a highlight of my career," said McShane. "Director of athletics Sandy Barbour has assembled a truly remarkable staff and continually pushes all of us in the pursuit of excellence. I am very grateful to Rich Feller for bringing me to Cal as I grew in great strides thanks to everyone I met during my time here. It is because of that growth that I feel more than prepared to take the next step in my career as a head coach. The Air Force Academy has many similarities to Cal athletics and I am confident that we will be able to succeed there."
"Matt has been an integral part of our team for five, very successful years," said Feller.
"He has helped bring Cal to greatness in the collegiate volleyball world. With him, we participated in four sweet sixteen's, three elite eight's and made one final four appearance. However, his contributions go beyond the court and in practices. Matt is a complete professional and a very good friend. We will miss him a great deal but wish him the best of luck at Air Force. The Falcons have hired a great new head coach for their volleyball team and I know that Matt will do wonderfully as he guides Air Force to great successes."
