UTSA Volleyball Team to Host NCAA Tournament Selection Show Watch Party on Sunday
SAN ANTONIO - The UTSA volleyball team will host an NCAA Tournament selection show watch party from 1:30-3 p.m. on Sunday at Stonewerks Big Rock Grille at The Rim, located at 5807 Worth Parkway. The 64-team field will be announced live on ESPNews at approximately 2 p.m.
The three-week tournament will begin with first- and second-round play from Dec. 2-5 at 16 campus sites that will feature four teams each. The remaining 16 teams then will play from Dec. 9-12 in four-team regionals held in Austin, Dayton (Ohio), Seattle and University Park (Pa.).
The final four teams will travel to Kansas City, Mo., for the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship. The semifinals will take place on Dec. 16 at the Sprint Center, followed by the National Championship match two days later.
The Roadrunners (22-11) earned the Southland Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after winning the program's second league tournament title. UTSA defeated McNeese State (3-2), Lamar (3-0) and regular-season champion Central Arkansas (3-2) to advance to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in the program's history.
