University of Central Arkansas Sophomore Volleyball Player Taylor Hammonds Honored By Cobra Magazine
CONWAY, Ark. - University of Central Arkansas sophomore volleyball player Taylor Hammonds was selected as a COBRA Magazine All-Midsouth Region Honorable Mention on Friday. Hammonds, a middle blocker from Tomball, Texas, led the Southland Conference in league play with a .377 hitting percentage. Overall she hit .322, ranking sixth in the SLC, and averaged 2.16 kills and 0.81 blocks per set. Hammonds was an All-Southland Conference Honorable Mention and won the league's offensive player of the week award on Sept. 6. She earned Sugar Bear Classic MVP honors and was named to the TCU/Molten Invitational all-tournament team.
COBRA Magazine's purpose is to celebrate the success of volleyball players of African descent in hopes of encouraging black girls across the country to pursue the sport.
